Registered Dietitians are highly qualified health professionals who are uniquely trained to translate scietific research about food and nutrition into practical solutions for individuals and families.
Registered dietitians provide leadership in interprofessional teams to support the nutritional health of the population. Also, Registered Dietitians are the ONLY regulated nutrition professional and can help by providing expert guidance and support to you and your family based on current research and recommendations.
To be a Registered Dietitian you must be registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
Want to check if the person you are seeing is really a dietitian? Search their name in the “Register of Dietitians” at www.collegeofdietitians.org. Remember, the term “Nutritionist” is not a protected title in Ontario and therefore anyone can use it. Be sure that you are getting trustworthy advice from a reliable source!
Meet our Dietitians!
Stephanie Hass, BSc. RD
Stephanie is a Registered Dietitian who received her BSc. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. She completed an Accredited Dietetic Internship Program at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario in 2012. Stephanie is very driven to overcome all types of challenges and is committed to providing the most up to date and evidenced based information to help guide lifestyle changes.
“I enjoy keeping busy and love organized team sports. I love a challenge and enjoy cooking and experimenting in my own kitchen. I am passionate about helping others build a positive relationship with food and I am dedicated to helping you and your family create and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”
Allison Smith, BASc. RD
Allison Smith is a Registered Dietitian who received her BASc. in Nutrition from Ryerson University and completed an Accredited Internship Program with the Southeastern Ontario Comprehensive Dietetic Internship Program in 2004. With thirteen years of experience, she brings an educated and balanced approach to counselling patients about nutrition and healthy loving.
“I love all things outdoors; boating, fishing, hiking, camping, ATVing as well as running, working out and yoga. I enjoy sharing my passion for food and a healthy lifestyle. I aim to help others find their balance in nutrition and health.”
